I love watching the ebb and flow of trends, some of them are fly by night and some are like long term relationships; here to stay, at least for a while. The influence of tribal styling in fashion is one of the more permanent influences and it's not surprising, it's what happens when we become more and more a global village. It's the allure of a mystical land, untouched by modern civilization. The promise of a capsule culture yet untouched by the corrupted hand of commercialism that will yield something unique, genuinely handmade and authentic. Who wouldn't be enchanted by such ideas. Well, we are of course. Here is our first look at Tribal for Summer 13 and there will be more....

A Winter Storyboard

This is a snapshot of my desk at Marzipan HQ.. we are getting inspired for Winter 13 and there are some luscious trends that translate oh-so-well into jewellery. Tribal, global, pattern and print is one of them. Hues of gold and baroque styling, lace and leather with an Edwardian twist are some others. One of our favorites is Deep Floral. I call it Deep Floral because the tones are going deeper and the textures richer and thicker. Luscious yes! And a trend that just cooks our noodle.So stay tuned we have some exciting designs on the brew....
